Final Guest List

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It was my 10 year high school reunion & I had a blast seeing everyone who showed up. I did put my Paleo diet on the sidelines for the weekend and gorged on delicious food & far more alcoholic beverages than I should have had. As a result I am painfully hungover today. Somehow, I managed to rally despite the hangover & got quite a few wedding related tasks completed.

I began the day with finishing up my Save-the-Dates. I’ll showcase the final touches that I put on these after I send them out in early November. I’m really proud of how they turned out in the end. I made a point to go through our guest list and make sure that every single person on our list had an envelope addressed to them… Good thing too, because I was missing 10 or so guests. Oops! Lesson learned: always double check things when you think you’re finished with a project.

Next, I moved on to updating our guest list on The Knot, as we are using our wedding website to obtain our RSVPs. Using this method for RSVPs means that we have to make sure each name is correctly spelled, children and spouses are correctly named, etc. There’s really no room for error, so again I wanted to double check everything. Now that the Save-the-Dates are about to go out our guest list is officially locked in, no more changes allowed, so I also needed to do some final additions and removals to our list. 179 individuals made our final guest list, although two of those people are Jason & myself so that I don’t forget to include the two of us in our final head count. I also wanted to use the RSVP to see if it was easy & worked correctly (it is & it does!).

You’ll note that I also designated which guests will be invited to the bridal shower & the rehearsal dinner. Those numbers, particularly for the rehearsal dinner, seem a little high to me though, so I may go through & weed some people out. Our immediate family members & bridal party (plus required significant others & children) make up a pretty large list though, so I’m not sure that we can really rim those numbers down too much.

If the 20% standard decline rate holds accurate for us we should have 142 guests in attendance at our wedding, which aligns perfectly with our 150 guests goal. We’re down to 8 months now… Time is moving right along!
